About Lemont

You have read the Welcome page and you have seen the question,

"Where in the world is Lemont Furnace, Pennsylvania?"

A stranger may not know or may not even care, but to those of us who were born there, or lived there, or visited family there the question needs no answer.  Lemont is home.  Lemont is family.  Our roots lie buried deeply in Lemont.

A stranger may not pronounce it correctly.  You may have heard someone call it "LaMont"?   We know that the correct pronunciation is "Lee'-Mont".

You can find Lemont on a map just a little northeast of Uniontown.   Everybody knows about Uniontown.  But you may not be able to find anything about Lemont in an atlas or encyclopedia, or anyplace else on the internet.  The best you will do is find one place named Lemont somewhere near Penn State and another Lemont in Illinois,  but neither one is our Lemont Furnace.
